$10 AMEX Serve Statement Credit After Making 5 $10+ Purchases (8/15 – 9/13)

Good morning everyone!  Just a quick post this morning.  If you have an AMEX Serve Card, you probably got this email already.  AMEX wants you to actually *use* your AMEX Serve Card like a credit/debit card, not just like a virtual bank account for paying bills and moving around money (that’s just a guess, I have no idea what AMEX really wants us to do).  With that said, there is now a promo where you can get $10 statement credit posted to your AMEX Serve Card after making 5 purchases of $10 or more between today (August 15) and September 13.  My advice would be to use your AMEX Serve Card for non-bonused spend where purchases are just above $10.

Serve Statement Credit Offer

Terms and Conditions:

1To receive the $10 credit from American Express Serve you must make five (5) or more separate purchases of $10 or more each with your American Express Serve Card between August 15, 2014 and September 13, 2014 (purchases totaling $50 or more). Limit one (1) $10 credit per American Express Serve Account. Subaccount holders are not eligible to earn a credit. Statement credit will be posted to your American Express Serve Account within thirty (30) days of your satisfying the above requirements. Please note that some merchants may aggregate or combine several separate purchases you make within a period of time into one single purchase transaction. We are not responsible for and cannot separate merchant aggregated purchases. Purchases aggregated by a merchant will be treated as one (1) purchase for the purposes of this offer. We recommend that you check the merchant’s policies prior to making multiple purchases. Offer subject to change or cancellation at any time. Offer valid only for the primary recipient of this email and shall be void if transferred or forwarded.

American Express Serve® Accounts available to U.S. residents who are over 18 years old only (or 19 in certain states), and for use virtually anywhere American Express® Cards are accepted worldwide, subject to verification. Fees apply. Other eligibility and restrictions apply. See the American Express Serve Consumer User Agreement for details.

What? That is a much better offer than my measly $10 statement credit. Can you forward the Serve email to me so I can include a screenshot in this post? Thanks Jonathan!

If they sent you 2 offers, do you get both offers? If you make 5 $10 purchases, do you get $25 and $10? If not, how do you select which offer you want? This is very strange.

            they said if i spend 5x $25, get 25. or spend 5x $10, get10. can’t get both. i believe i need to make 10 purchase(5×25 and 5x 10) in order to receive $25+$10.

Hmm, that makes sense. Which offer is better? $10 back after spending $50 or $25 back after spending $125? Both equal 20% return.

That is a really good offer. Can you forward the email you got from Serve? I want to have a complete collection of Serve offers.

Thanks in advance to anyone who emails them to me.

Somewhat off-topic, but are you still able to load Serve using GCs in Walmart in OC? Moneycenters have been tough, but I need to try just loading at the registers. Money orders aren’t happening either.

I go to the Walmart in Foothill Ranch and haven’t had any problems. I haven’t loaded any GCs since Monday/Tuesday, but I didn’t have any problems then. What problems are you having?

I think it was with the MoneyCenter folks. They insisted no GCs, but I need to try the registers instead. Is there a kiosk at the Foothill Ranch location or do you go to the MC or registers? I went to the Aliso Viejo one and there wasn’t a kiosk.

Back on topic, albeit a couple weeks later, my wife got the $10 bonus after meeting spend, I got nothing after meeting the spend. Both of us got the offer via e-mail. I had to call to get the $10. Rep actually argued that I didn’t meet the promotion, that it ended in May! I told him I’d be happy to forward the e-mail. He said hold on…….15 minutes later after he spoke to the marketing dept, he said I was correct. He probably had a sandwich during that time.

Moral of this story, hang up if you get an idiot rep on the phone, call back and save yourself 15 minutes.

I got the $10 but it cost me about 1/2 hr total in time.

Dang, sorry it was so much work to get the $10 statement credit. I think Serve/Bluebird customer service is not as good as regular AMEX service, but even that can depend when you call. No consistency at all.
