I apologize for all the Chase Ink Bold/Plus coverage lately, Chase just has a thing for me.  In today’s mail, they sent me a targeted letter to sign up for the Chase Ink Plus Business Credit Card (currently I have 2 Ink Bold cards only).  The offer is identical to the currently available bank offer of 70,000 Chase Ultimate Reward Points offer after spending $5,000 in 3 months.  The $95 annual fee is not waived for this offer.

From the back of the letter, there is a way to apply for this offer online, but you need a specific invitation number to access the application.  The application number has my home address attached to it, so I cannot share it unfortunately.  According to the offer, I have until September 15 to apply, so it looks like this offer (hopefully public soon) will be around until September 15.  You should see a sign up link come online soon.

In other credit card news, US Bank is following in the footsteps of Chase and American Express by offering referral bonuses for referring your friends and family members to sign up for a US Bank FlexPerks credit card.  The offer is pretty low tech.  Your friends and family member need to enter your FlexPerks number on their application and you will receive 5,000 bonus FlexPerks.  Since 20,000 FlexPerks = $400 in travel, this referral is essentially worth up to $100, not too shabby.  If you are interested, please click here.  If you are interested in using my referral link, please enter FlexPerks number 400005503422.  If you do apply, I greatly appreciate your support.

Here is the landing page for the refer a friend page.

There are 2 personal FlexPerks offers and 1 business FlexPerks offer.  Please note, if you do not qualify for the FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card, you will be automatically considered for the lesser FlexPerks Select Rewards Visa Credit Card.  The sign up bonus and the bonus categories differ.  Also, the business FlexPerks credit card has different 2x categories than the personal FlexPerks credit card.  You will get 2x on gas, office supplies, and airline purchases.  You can combine FlexPerks into one account, so it might be a good idea to go for a personal and business credit card (if not just for the sign up bonus).

FlexPerks Credit Card Offers

I was unaware that you could register multiple business credit cards to the same Visa Savings Edge account, but it looks like you can (obviously).  That saved me a few minutes from creating separate accounts for my Chase Ink Bold authorized user cards.  If you are unfamiliar with Visa Savings Edge, please read What is Visa Savings Edge?

Great post. I would like to sign up using your referral number for us bank flexperks but I just got us bank club Carlson card last month. How long do you suggest to wait until I apply for another us bank card. Since they are known to be very difficult to approve credit card application if just got multiple credit inquiries in our record.
How do you get 2 ink bolds? I thought chase only allow you to get the sign up bonus once in a lifetime for same product…please correct me if I’m wrong.
Keep up the great work, love your blog!

I would wait at least 3 months between credit card applications or App-O-Ramas. The refer a friend program should be around until December 31, 2014, so no rush.

I got a Chase Ink Bold MasterCard 2 years ago, then I got a Chase Ink Bold Visa in March 2014. They are different products and I received both sign up bonuses. I plan on applying for the Chase Ink Plus before the September 15 deadline.

My last App-O-Rama was on June 12 (http://travelwithgrant.com/2014/06/12/app-o-rama-update-4-approvals-2-recon-calls-1-pending-application-and-a-barclays-denial/) so 3 months after that will be September 12 and I will have a few days to spare.

after what has seemed like a very dramatic day today due to some intense inter-blog twitter wars, blog deal post takedowns, the usual flyertalk noob-bashing … i just needed to post a few additional comments why i love grant’s blog:

    1) grant’s blog is like switzerland. super neutral, in the fact the most neutral of all travel/miles blogs out there. honestly, clicking on this page in my favorites link, i know i’m coming to a place of peace and serenity.
    2) grant replies with awesome advice and will always say the truth to his best knowledge, even if it doesnt directly/immediately benefit him, (for example, grant telling john above to wait to get the US bank card to minimize the impact to his credit, etc., even though gran’t won’t immediately benefit through a referral link)
    3) awesome posts! most detailed descriptions ever! great tutorials! and he replies to his readers!

travel with grant …. the one place where you should come to learn about travel, miles, MS, and everything is fun, friendly, and blue clouds grace the background. keep it up grant.

Thanks Alex for the compliment. I try to blog about stuff that interests me. I ask myself: would I like reading this post if I wasn’t the one to write this? Hopefully the answer is yes.

I think having a full time job and limited time to blog is a benefit. I would rather publish a lengthy post in the evening about a bunch of random stuff than post 4-5 smaller posts throughout the day.

I’m glad you like the light puffy clouds background, it always calms me down :)

Grant, have to say your blog is by far my favorite on the web. Any word on when the Chase Ink 70k offer will be online publicly? I don’t have a Chase branch reasonably close to me but I am ready to get my first business card and this appears to be the best right now.

Thank you for the compliment Ryan. I am not sure when the offer with be available online, but I think it will be online soon. If my personal mailed offer is anything to go by, the offer will be around until September 15, so hopefully it will be online in the next 1.5 months. If it still doesn’t show up online, you might be able to call the closest Chase branch and apply over the phone. They will ask you all the questions on the application and type it into the system at the bank. That will take a long time to complete, so hopefully the online application shows up soon.
