What's On My Mind

What’s on my Mind? Carlsberg Brewery, Copenhagen Airport Hilton, Staples Gift Card Promo, and Chicago Seminars

Greetings from Copenhagen everyone!  I had a great time at the Airline Interiors Expo (AIE/AIX) in Hamburg earlier this week and flew up to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) on a cheap $100 flight via SAS.  I’m currently staying at the Hilton Copenhagen by the airport and it is a lovely hotel, 5 minute walk from the airport and a 2 minute walk to the adjoining metro station.  Before I share some pictures of the hotel, here is what I did today (hint: drinking beer).

I don’t always look like that, but when I do, it’s because I am standing in front of a brewery.

Copenhagen Airport Hilton

I got to the hotel around 11am and I was glad that let me check in early.  The nice lady behind the desk said my 2 favorite words “Double Upgrade” and moved me to a big room on the executive floor with access to the executive lounge.

Hilton Bed

Some appetizers from the executive lounge.

Appetizers

I originally booked a cash and points room for 24,000 Hilton HHonors Points + $14 per night.  The standard room rate is pricey, but I got a good deal with cash and points.

HH Guest Room Points

I did the calculations for the next 2 higher room tiers and it just gets better and better.

Staples Gift Card Promo

As reported on FlyerTalk, there is a deal starting this Sunday at Staples where you can get a $20 Visa Gift Card (after Easy Rebate) after purchasing $300+ in Visa Gift Cards.  Couple that with your Chase Ink Bold/Plus Credit Card and an extra 1% cash back if you have a Ink Bold/Plus Visa Credit Card (link), and you will do pretty good with this promo.  Please if you are going to my Staples in Woodbury, please leave 2 $200 gift cards behind, thank you :)

Being Hilton Gold helps. You can get that status several different ways. I currently have the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Credit Card which gives you automatic Hilton Gold. It also depends when you check in, how full the hotel will be, and who is working at the time. No magic formula. Expect no upgrades and be happy if one is offered.
